FunSun Travel? 598$ for two?
Has anyone seen the FunSun vacation advertisement that offers two people flights, hotels in the bahamas and orlando, rental cars and a cruise to Freeport. Is it legitimate, and if so, is it worth it?
|
DO NOT DO THIS- I DID AND ITS BEEN A NIGHTMARE!
|
This is a TOTAL SCAM RIP OFF!

AVOID at all costs.

This is also AN ADVERTISEMENT which has been posted here about 10 times in the last 6 weeks. Thankfully DELETED almost every time.
|
And what about it makes it a scam and a rip off? What happens once you get ther?
|
They start by adding on additional costs (some are real some are not but just plain profit on their side) plus the hotel they put you in is maybe a 1 star at best. This scam has been out there for quite a while and have rad only negative feedback.

We just returned from our Bahamas trip. It was wonderful. There were costs but we were informed in advance about the hotel tax and the port tax. The trip was perfect. I will use the services of FunSun Travel again. They did a wonderful job. Anyone who has asked for a refund from FunSun Travel has missed out on a trip of a lifetime.

Give me a FREEKIN' BREAK!
If I were the webmaster here I'd pull your lame, no shame, fake post---placed here only for ADVERTISING purposes--right off this thread.

Go peddle your wares elsewhere, you scammers.

I guess I didn't realize this message board was only to rant and rave. Seems only angry people with nothing better to do than trash talk. I had a good time on my trip. I had honest people to work with. I am telling you my opinion and you are welcom to disagree with me.

If you go to the www.bahamas-mon.com board click on Message Board and then Freeport for some real info on those so called "free" or "discount" trips. Yes they are a rip-off. They almost immediately start raising the prices and fees and upgrades. Also the Bahamas does not have a "port tax". There is however a "departure tax" that is $18 from Freeport and $15 from Nassau. The "port tax" I have heard charged by that group is something like $100 or $200pp. That is just another way of getting more money and has nothing to do with a local tax.

Most of these trips are come-ons for time share property and you get a real agressive sales pitch and some people felt that they were forced to buy something they did not want, and have tried to renig and get their money back.

Also, if you really look around for the final price those companies charge, you can pretty well do the trip on your own.

So when you see these ads, as Mom always used to say "if it looks too good to be true.....", so just beware.

tweedy

To any naive readers looking for info about the FunSun outfit, please be aware that "Linda" is only an advertising rep posting this message for business reasons.
Avoid this scam outfit and save yourself a major rip-off.

Hey Linda I see you found this board to advertise sun Travel now name changed to Sunny trips. oh yah same people, same phone numbers. Try and get Will, Carrie, Frank, Kelly, ect to return your call. We booked in May, worked with them until 6 work days to leave time, had our dates changed twice, promised free food coupons, free upgrade, and still ended up with nothing. Frank at funsun travel gave us the poor me, sad story, kinda pushed us I'd say, by telling us he could not sleep nites because he was told to lie daily to us, he needed this job, and told us to cancel, it's a scam. we believed him, and our leave date was to close with nothing to show for it, so we cancled. Good way to get rid of us. Last we checked, we still did not have our refunds. We did go, but not with fun sun travel. Loved every moment. wish we could go back tomorrow. Anyway we did cancel Aug. 29, and our leave date was to be Sept.7. We have filed with numerous places. so have many others. even those who have gone on THIS trip. One couple called them by the hour the day before they were to leave, and finally 9:30 pm that nite got plane tickets. Oh yah, forgot, they told her to get her refund, and when her husband heard this thats when he started calling. anyway, 9:30 got plane tickets confirmed, had to be at the aiport at 6:30 am, a 2 hour drive away, had to be at airport early to check in---usually 1-2 hours early. They did not get alot of sleep. Got to the resort in the Bahamas and they had NO RESERVATIONS made by funsun travel. More calls. Then when they did get them , they found out they were short a nites booking by funsun travel. They have filed. She even talked to 10 couples there who were not happy with this trip. She kept asking couples "funsun travel"??? she got names and addresses. these she shared with me. go to the "BAHAMAS VACATION GUIDE" and check out the "funsun travel" now "Sunny trips" posting by consumers there. Pretty sad these people can't find an honest job thats not taking advantage of people. People work hard for their money and fun sun travel offered the trip not the consumers. and people are trying to make the consumer feel they are wrong for complaining for getting the run around. I don't see how they sleep nites. Have they no conscious?? They say what goes around, comes around. Maybe enough people filing with South East Florida's BBB , and the Florida Attorney General will stop them. The process takes some time. you need your information for them, but it will be worth it, if they are checked into by them. I was also told "INTERNET FRAUD COMPLAINT CENTER" is another place to file. anyway, go the "Bahamas Vacation Guide" and check out the posts on this company. Please pass this info on.

HUH?????? Betty's post does not make sense AT ALL!!!!!
|
Betty's note makes complete sense.
It's a detailed decription (though a bit frantic) of how she was <ripped off> by FunSun Travel.

As noted above, anyone who books with this outfit after reading this thread is simply a moron.
|
Thanks Greg, Yah at the time I wrote it I was a little frantic.
Kelly at Funsun travel told us we would not get our refunds back.
My hubby found the offer May 23, thought he'd surprise me and bought. Never has he done anything like this. We did check the Florida BBB and at that time , they did not have anything negative on funsun travel--NOW their name is changed and they are going by Sunny trips. I just wanted to warn others who are thinking about buying or have bought . If they bought they need to get it all in writing, save the original ad that details what they were offered. Thats in case they have to file or turn in information to their credit card if the package falls through. I went to the Southeast Florida BBB site, selected "check on a company" and entered "Sunny trips" and 1-866-883-1494 and NOW you need to see what the Better Business Bureau has to say. It lists all the different names they go by, which has FunSun travel, and Sunny trips and a couple more. Gives the phone numbers, addresses, and more. It's not a positive messge.
Betty
