I'm going to guess that everyone that posts in this thread will be the planner

I plan some things. I shop for and buy the airfare, and I look at hotel/villa/whatever options. I book the hotel/whatever for at least the first part of the trip, but lately I leave the second part unbooked, especially if we plan to rent a car and travel.

Our last trip to Jamaica was to be 10 days Negril (booked that part ahead) and 6 days after taht exploring wherever we wanted to go, with a rental car.

I looked at and emailed the owners of several places we thought we might go beforehand, ascertained that they had openings, but booked nothing. That turned out to be wise, because we did change our plans quite a bit from what we'd thought about.

My husband just wants to know what dates he needs to take off, the rest is up to me. Once we get there, he does have an opinion about where we go and when.

I definitely don't pre-plan restaurants or anything else other than our ride from the airport to wherever we're going (or book the rental car if that's what we're up to).
