From Virgin Gorda to Marina Cay?

Planning a vacation on Virgin Gorda at either BEYC or Biras. Has anyone taken a day trip to Pusser's Marina Cay from either? Can you boat to it alone or must you charter? (Talked to the desk guy at BEYC & he said he never heard of Marina Cay - even though it is between VG & Tortola.)
Must explore the island I read about in Robb White's book!

Now that is one for the record books. A guy at BEYC never heard of Marina Cay. Depending on the wind and weather, it's a not to bad sail there and back from North Sound. Not much there but a Pusser's tho but the "resort" is a neat place but there are better destinations! Walk up to the top of the hill and check it out!

Marina Cay (Jose Cuervo Nation) is highly overrated. Not any good beach to speak of and if you want to explore, it will take all of 5-10 minutes, its not much more than 2 acres. But, stop for a half hour, have a drink at Pussers, gas up and continue on--there are much better stops to be found.

Sue, the guy must've arrived from the wheat fields of Kansas on within the last 20 minutes. Everybody in the BVI has heard of Marina Cay.
All things considered, it's just a bar, but a well known one. Wouldn't really be a day trip unless you're planning to spend a lot of the time at the bar. Great day trips out of VG, imo are up/down the Sir Francis Drake Channel. A stop at Cooper Island for lunch on the beach, a run over to Soper's Hole at West End on Tortola for burgers at the Jolly Roger (you can pick up a car rental or taxi right there to buzz the mountains and bays of Tortola), a trip to Cane Garden Bay (Jimmy Buffett fame) on Tortola's north side. Those would be significantly better, I think, than Marina Cay, but there are dozens of other choices, all terrific.
