Thanks for the response. WE are a couple in our early 30's. Looking for beautiful accomodations, pool, beach, food, romantic and the occasaional drink or two in the evening or after the beach. Are there any good local spots for this etc. What about shopping?
Any input would be great.

Thanks

Four Season, Nevis is an excellent resort. The rooms are very nicely appointed and comfortable. The beach is wide and lined with palm trees. There are two large infinity edge pools on the property, one for families and one that's adults only. The food at the resort's three restaurants is good to very good but pricey (after all your at a Four Seasons Resort). You can have drinks in the Four Seasons lounge or at their beach bar where you'll have fantastic views of the setting sun.

Sunshine's, Golden Rock Beach Club and Hermitage Beach Bar & Retsaurant are just a short walk down the beach. You can eat and drink there to your heart's content. There are numerous other beach bars and restaurants within a 10 to 15 minute drive of the resort. Go to www.Nevis1.com for a comprehensive list and unbiased reviews of nearly every restaurant, beach bar and hotel on Nevis.

You'll find several upscale shops at the resort and in Charlestown (about 2 miles down the road) you'll find the typical tourist shops but don't expect to find anywhere near the types of shops you'd see in St. thomas or St. Martin.

We were there in January and enjoyed the resort and Nevis very much. We were supposed to be in an oceanfront room and were at first put in a first floor room. The room itself was beautiful - marble floors, granite and marble in the bathroom, but we did not have a good view. We asked to be switched and they were able to accomodate us the next night. The second floor room had the exact same furnishings, but had tile floors and bathroom. I understand the first floor rooms were renovated after the hurricane they had a few years back. All that being said, we enjoyed the second floor room so much more because it was much more private with a screened-in porch. We had a wonderful view, and loved sitting out in the morning for breakfast and at night without being bothered by mosquitos.
Enjoy your stay... the service is wonderful and the island is so lovely.

Question about the upper floor room--was the bathroom outdated compared to the bottom floor rooom? Would you suggest one cottage versus another in terms of view of the beach?

If I had not seen the downstairs bathroom in marble and granite, I wouldn't have thought a thing about the tile in the second floor bathroom. It was still very nicely appointed, very large, and set up the exact same way as downstairs with a seperate tub and shower, and a double vanity. The beauty of having a screened-in porch with a fabulous view far outweighed for us the updated floors and bathroom.

We were in Combermere Cottage (I believe it was #4) on the north side of the resort by the family pool. If you wanted to be on the first floor and have a better view, I would think that some of the cottages on the south side of the resort, like 8, 9, or 10 would be better.
