Thanks Al. I feel much better now knowing that you're a fan of the NBH. This is my first time in the Bahamas and I didn't know what to expect. We didn't want to spend an arm and a leg for the hotel. NBH seems like a good choice for us. We're also staying at the Comfort Suites for the remaining 3 nights we're there, so we can use the Atlantis facilities.

You've been very helpful, thanks again.

and....order a Goombay Smash, a Bahamian speciality.

I also like the NBH, it is low key and right on the beach, how can you really go wrong for the price.

Johnny Canoe is also fun and the food is mostly Bahamian. Order the conch salad and conch fritters both are great there. Cracked conch is good too come to think of it.

There are a few fastish food places in the area (and please remember nothing in the Bahamas is actually fast, lol), like pizza and hamburgers.

Right across the street near the straw market is a small stand and the drinks there are good, try a pina colada.

The straw market there is much smaller than the one downtown but it is very close to the hotel and remember to bargin for everything. You can even bargin at some of the nicer stores downtown.

Have a GREAT time.

Thank you wantsomesun, now I can hardly wait to go. I will definitely try Johnny Canoe and their conch specialties. And how can a girl deny shopping and bargaining? LoL. Thanks for the reassurance once again regarding NBH. I'm thinking I won't be in the hotel room much.
