flying to st. kitts then boat to st. barts

Is there a ferry from st. bats to st. kitts?

NO!!! There's no ferry between St. Kitts & St. Bart's. The only way to get to St. Bart's from St. Kitt's is to either charter a private airplane (think in terms of $1,200 to $1,500 each way) or to fly commercially on LIAT to St. Martin then connect to another Liat flight from Princes Julianna Airport, or an Air Caribes flight from Grand Case Airport.

You could also fly to St. Martin and take a ferry from there to St. Bart's (Warning: the ferry crosses some "open water" and can be rough at times - it's nick named "The Vomit Comet").

Correction - From St. Martin's Princess Julianna Airport you take a Winair Flight to St. Bart's, not a Liat flight.

You can also fly St. Barth's Commuter from PJIA to SBH, less expensive than Winair although fewer flights. And above is correct, no ferry from St. Kitts. You might be able to hire someone in St. Kitts to charter boat you over, but I have no information on that for you.

A charter boat from from St. Kitts to St. Bart's will be expensive as you'll have to pay for the deadhead run to get the boat & crew back to St. Kitts. Figure around $1,000 9maybe more) for a sail boat and twice that for a power boat.

Besides the cost, it is not your optimum mode of transportation. St. Bart's is about 75 miles from St. Kitts which will take a sailboat some 12 to 15 hours to make the trip. A power boat will take about 5 to 8 hours, depending on it's potential speed. Either way, you'd need a fairly good size boat as you'd be crossing a lot of open water.

Your much better off flying either commercial or charter. Actual total "in air" flying time between St. kitts and St. Bart's is around 35 to 40 minutes.
