I am going to stay on St John, but the tickets are cheaper to St Thomas - what do people suggest?

You have no choice. There is no airport on St. John.

The ferry is quick and cheap.

The fee includes unlimited trips to St. Thomas during your stay if you choose to spend the day on that island. The ferry ride is about 40 minutes. You need to alert the Westin you'll be using their service by calling them a few days before your trip.
