Flights to Caymans

This fall, our family of four will have enough frequent flyer miles to fly round-trip within the continental U.S. We would like to fly from Sioux Falls, SD to the Grand Cayman, using the "split ticket" method. (See Nat'l Geographic Traveler, May/June 2004 at page 16). From what U.S. city could we get the cheapest airfare to Grand Cayman?

Fort Lauderdale on Cayman Airways is your best option, you can get there on any of the low cost carriers.... ah, but you are talking frequent flyer miles... some of the majors fly there too :)

You might also check out Miami.

Not sure what this method is (do you have a link). But we saw connections directly to Georgetown through Miami via American and through Atlanta via Delta. You may also want to look at Continental through Houston.

Hope this helps.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I will check out the flights from all the destinations.
P.S. The split-ticket method is when you use frequent flyer miles for a free trip within the US (or just buy a low- cost ticket) and then buy another ticket round trip from the US city to your ultimate destination. It will save you part of a round-trip ticket to the Caribbean, European or Asian destination.
