I've been to St. Bart's many times and done a lot of research looking for deals. Maybe I should have worded that differently but in St. Bart's $250 per night doesn't get you much. That's why I said $250 to $500 depending on season for a hotel (Filao Beach) that is not considered one of the high end places. We knew some people who stayed there last year and those are the prices there. The cheapest room is somewhere around $250 even in the low season and $350 to probably $500 in the high season. The Christopher hotel is another mid range hotel where the low season prices with car and breakfast are around $300 per night. High season it is about $550 per night with no car.

Some low end places are Village St. Jean, Tropical, Emeraude Plage and they're priced around $200 per night in slow season (including car and breakfast).

Some high end hotels are Le Toiny, Isle de France and Carl Gustaf. Even in low season the rooms are around $500 per night at these hotels including car and breakfast. In the high season you will pay much more than that.

Yes, you can find low, low end places that are cheaper in low season (maybe $100-$150 per night) but the rooms are very small, decorated VERY plainly & sparsely with no frills whatsoever (no restaurant and no pool).

Villas don't usually include a car in the low season but a lot of the hotels do. You have to figure that into the price when choosing a villa.
