ferry to St. Croix?

Hello,

I will be traveling to the USVI next Feb and Mar. I am trying to figure out how to travel from St. Thomas to St. Croix. As far as I can tell, most people fly. There is only one ferry listed (called the "fast ferry") -- are there any others? Also, I now read someone that the fast ferry may not be running this winter season -- is this true?

Thanks for any info.

The fast ferry that ran for the past 6 years in season won't be coming this year. There is a new ferry company starting up for the season hopefully in December, and they will run year round. Should be by the time you get here.

The best way to travel between St. Thomas and St. Croix is the seaplane. Take a look at that. The terminal is convenient on both ends. Just beware that the plane often leaves luggage behind, so you might not arrive with all your bags if you have a lot of luggage.

What seaplane companies do you recommend in the Carribean. I've been looking into it and could only find one company (seaborne airlines). Can you please let me know of others.
Thanks

I could be wrong but I think Seabourn is your only choice.

Seaborne is the only choice. They have a web site.
