Ferry service between St. Vincent and St. Lucia

Is there any ferry/catamaran/yacht service between St. Vincent and St. Lucia? Would like to travel from St. Vincent to St. Lucia and back after spending a few days in St. Lucia, in late April. The ferry service -express-des-iles Thanks for any help.

Sorry, I posted the message too soon! The ferry service "express-des-iles" does not seem to operate between these 2 islands.

Also, are there any airlines that fly directly between these 2 islands. Thanks.

LIAT airlines services both St. Lucia and St. Vincent. There may not be non-stop service between the two islands (I assume that's what you meant), but there would probably be direct service (one or more stops, no plane changes).

LIAT is generally an inexpensive airline to fly and they sometimes offer fares for as little as $30 one way, plus taxes.

Commercial is as EJ posted LIAT/Caribbean Star. The merger is a fairly recent business event. Rates are good but direct flights between SLU and SVG are sometimes posted on the website and then changed to include a stop in BGI. Other than smaller private airlines such as SVGAir LIAT holds the monopoly.

Agreed, take a commuter hop from one to the other... however, check the schedules and choose a direct non-stop flight. Some go to Barbados first where you'll sit around to switch planes (which may or may not be on time) and make take half the day to get from one island to the other. A direct flight is only about 35 minutes.

First of all thanks to all the responses. The problem with Liat/Caribbean Star air service is that their flights from St. Vincent to St. Lucia is via BGI and there are no seats for months in the segment between BGI and SLU. Since I cannot find Air travel (unless I do the expensive 14 hour AA flight connecting with SJU as ejc suggested), I am looking at ferry/catamaran service options. Do you know whether ferries/catamarans operate between St. Vincent and St. Lucia?

As far as I know, there are no ferry services between St. Lucia and St. Vincent. However, I think you are mistaken about the lack of seats between St. Lucia and Barbados. There are plenty of seats and flights. Try the LIAT web site (www.liatairline.com). There's even a non-stop flight some days at 11:05 am. I plugged in April 28 returning April 30 and found many options.

Ah ... I think I see what's happening. Your trip is coinciding with the Cricket World Cup. You may very well have problems finding flights on particular days when people are traveling from one island to another for matches. I completely forgot about the timing.

Yes, the problem is indeed that. There have been no availabilty of seats between April 22nd and 27th between BGI and SLU for months. I am afraid that I will just have to lose the money I spent on the Cricket Semi Final tickets for April 25th in St. Lucia!!
