ferry schedule and prices between Charlotte Amalie and Cruz Bay?

We leave on Mon., Apr. 6th for ten days in St. John. I have tried to check the St. Thomas/ St. John ferry schedules and prices online, but most of the information is dated 2006 or so or not dated at all, and the information varies a good bit. We prefer the boat to and from Charlotte Amalie, but I am concerned about the schedule. Also, I heard that that boat's following its schedule is less reliable than the boat to and from Red Hook. Can someone give me accurate information, please? Many thanks.

i believe this schedule is current. it lists phone numbers for each company so you can phone if you'd like to. i have not heard of the CA ferry being unreliable, but perhaps someone living on st. thomas will post.

if you do red hook you'll need to taxi for anywhere from 45 mins to 1 1/4 hrs depending on time of day, so you'd want to factor that into your plan. town is very busy in early am and worse in the afternoon because ppl are getting off work plus the ships are reloading.

you will love st. john. where are you staying?

Thanks for the infomation. Like you, we do love St. John. This will be a return visit. We try to spend time in the Caribbean each Spring, but this is the first time we will be making a second visit. We'll be staying at Eleah's Garden on Gifft Hill.

the hot tub on your deck looks excellent. as does the outdoor covered dining. we like to rent villas and love to eat outside!
hope you'll share a trip report when you get back.

Just an FYI. the senior rates only apply to those with an official Senior ID issued by the VI government to Virgin Islands residents.
