Feb06 with a toddler for R&R and good food - where best ?
Am looking for a resort with excellent food, uncluttered feel, direct flight or as near a dammit from Boston with beach/pool/babysitting for a toddler and suites with Kitchen ? I know it is a lot but any ideas ?

the sands will be perfect for you. i don't think there are direct flights but you CAN be on the beach by 4 flying from boston.
this brings to mind a question though. why are there (other than beaches which is so - well fill in own words) no places specifically for the OP. it would seem this would be a consistent market just as couples only places are. this request comes up constantly on these boards. gee i wish a had a spare billion or so to build these resorts. places for young couples with children under 12. not all flashy but nice. restaurants with food kids will like plus more gourmet for the parents. pool with kids and one without. toys but no cluttered look plus cocktail service on the beach (so you don't have to leave the kiddies of course). hmmm

our then-toddler loved FDR in Jamaica; there were many families there from Boston when we were there 3 years ago; food was good; had your own kitchen and there was an adults-only restaurant (your nanny babysits at night). All rooms are suites. Pool was designed for little ones.
Hope this helps,

I have been to the Sands and would recommend it based on your criteria except that you want to go in Feb. The water may not be warm enough then. I beleive their pools are not heated. You may want to look further south into the Caribbean for warmer weather/water.
