We still plan to go on our vacation but I think this is an individual choice based on your fear of being out of the country during a war. I personally think a vacation might be beneficial in that we sometimes just need to get away for awhile.

The vacation will really be a benefit. But Maureen is right. My children will be here. That's my concern. I'm not an experienced traveler ( never flown ) so I guess it's more seperation anxiety than terrorism. Watching the eveninig news just seems to add to that.

Quite honestly this isn't about the terrorists winning at this point (not traveling because the terrorists win is really an absurd idea to begin with) since the stakes have been upped. Tourism is down because of the threat of imminent war and the economy is going right back into recession so prices seem to be very good. I think I would be a bit hesistant to travel outside the US right now. Hesitating a week or two until after the middle of the month to see what is going to happen might make you feel more comfortable leaving friends and family especially if one has children who will need comfort and support. This is the first time that war has been started by the US and it is at our doorsteps so there is no way to know what will happen since it is generally accepted that there will be retaliation if Bush continues this mad determination which has nothing to do with terrorism.
