Family Villas?
We would like to take our family to the caribbean (5 yr old, 3 yr old, 1 yr old) and thought that a villa rental would be the way to go. This way breakfast, lunch and naps are easy. Want something close to the beach.
Would love to go back to turks but open to all suggestions.

There are rent villas and rental condos on just about every island in the Caribbean and Bahamas - literally thousands to choose from. You can find beach front units, beach access units, in town units and places up in the rain forests. They come in all sizes from one bedroom cottages to mega-mansions and everything in-between. Prices vary greatly depending on the location and amenities
All that said renting a villa or a condo is a great way for a family to visit the Caribbean. We did the "rental thing" often when our children were young and always had fantastic vacations.
Your best bet is to first pick the island you want to visit then do a simple google search using such topics as: "Rental Villas, NAME OF SLAND" or "NAME OF ISLAND, Vacation Rentals" and you'll find lots of website links showing what's available on that particular island. Most of the sites will have detailed info on the various renal units including photos of the properties, amenities and proximity to shops, beaches and points of interest.

While Turtle Beach House on St. Kitts is very nice it is located in a very remote section of St. Kitts' Southern Peninsula. Besides a few other homes, the only thing nearby is a very high end restaurant. There are two beach bars and another somewhat pricey restaurant on the "next bay over" (10 to 15 minute walk or a few minutes by car). It's at least a 25 minute drive to the nearest grocery store and longer drive to Basseterre and major shopping.

hi, i love provo too. the ideal spot for your family is on the south side of the island on sopadilla bay beach. it's just made for little ones with gradual sandy entrance and it's Very shallow for quite a ways out so kids love to play & can do so safely.
you should read this trip report: http://www.fodors.com/community/cari...gust-13-21.cfm
kellybeaches is still on fodors so if you have any questions i'm sure she'd be happy to answer.
there are of course other rentals on this beach.
