Grand Cayman, Barbados, or Turks and Caicos

I've been looking at the trip reports and forums And planning an upcoming vacation for four adults. We have narrowed it down to one of the Carribean Islands, Grand Cayman, Turks and Caicos or Barbados. We are very interested in staying at a non inclusive villa, resort small hotel that is on the beach and has good snorkeling. We would like to able to walk to restaurants and bars...are not interested in casinos or nightlife as our focus is on snorkeling, swimming and seeing a new place. We are open to using Airbnb for a place. We would like to pay about $500-600 per night, we would eat breakfast and lunch in and dine out at dinner. Has anyone been to the Cranes in Barbados? It seems to have varied reviews.what about the condos at Sapphire on Dover Beach in Barbados? Any help would be appreciated, we are booking soon, as we are thinking of a February getaway from the Northeast. We would not be opposed to renting a car.Thank you.

Hi. We had gotten married on Grand Cayman in 1994, but have not been back since. I remember it to be a very clean beautiful island with great snorkeling.
We did go to Turks & Caicos last year and loved it. We stayed at the Sands at Grace Bay in room 3206 which was GREAT! Huge screened in balcony which could be accessed from bedroom or off dining room. Full equipped kitchen and walking distance to restaurants. Water was turquoise. One of our best vacations.
Have a great time.

If one of your focuses is on snorkeling, I would suggest Grand Cayman - snorkeling was really great. I enjoyed Grand Cayman for a few days and Sting Ray City was a fun experience. Other than that, the island is not one of my favs - too built up, very pricey and lacked a Caribbean feeling.

We did not find the snorkeling on T&C very rewarding and although it was fun swimming with the turtles on Barbados, the snorkeling was not great. The main draw at T&C is Grace Bay - it is amazing! We ate lunch at The Sand's restaurant and it seemed like a great place to stay.

I thought Dover Beach and Crane Beach were both beautiful on Barbados but I cannot comment on the condos. You'd be able to walk to plenty of restaurants and bars however from Dover Beach.
Barbados had the most culture and personality, very friendly locals.

Also check out Ocean Club West which has a much wider section of beach than The Sands.
