Experts, I need your help!
We want to travel to the Caribbean in December during the school holidays. Our kids will be 3 yrs old and 6 mths. We're so confused. Here are our requirements:
1. Want a direct flight from NYC.
2. Want luxury but don't want to spend much more than $600/night.
3. Prefer a suite or villa with a kitchen.
4. If we book a villa or house, must also have room service/maid service.
5. Want swimming/beach weather. (We hear Bermuda is out and maybe T&C.)
6. Don't care about night life at all.
Any thoughts?? Please help!
Thanks.

Islands you can reach non-stop (not necessarilly everyday, however) from NYC include Grand Cayman, ST. Thomas, St. Martin, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Barbados St. Kitts and Aruba. All will generally have warm weather in December, all have a variety of rental villas (FYI - most come with maid service), condos and upscale properties that will be in your price range - lots to choose from.

I really think Grand Cayman is the ticket. You can rent a nice Condo on 7 mile beach and you will have many restaurants within walking distance. The beach is great for kids. The island is clean and friendly and safe. I highly recommend it.

T&C as well, but depending on when exactly you want to go, many places are already booked. About 2 months ago we looked into T&C for the week after christmas and it was completely booked, as was teh hotel we looked at in Cabo.

Grand Cayman would be my vote as well! Do you have to travel over the holidays? Since your kids are so small, can you go before or after the holiday? Then, you could get a much better price (probably mid december).
The Grand Cayman has many condo options,as well as a Ritz Carlton, Westin and Marriott. I am not sure if the Hyatt is fully opened or not? The beach is great for walking. Restaurants on the island are good. You would have access to grocery stores with lots of variety.
Water is crystal clear and very swimmable. Nightlife is quiet beach bars.
