Thanks for the info. I have read a number of your postings, Penny, and you seem to be right on, so if you say Jumby Bay I have a lot of faith in that choice. Any sense of how the kids will enjoy it?

I think the kids will do fine! I have seen a few families enjoying the beaches
around Jumby, the bikes, and the pool. The hotel is really like having a private home on the island. In the evening they now serve dinner on the Veranda, a children's menu, plus its very casual. The whole island is fun to explore. Its a nice mix of all ages!
We are going again in late November!

Redwolf, I don't know if you'll even see this response as it is now April of 2006, but I wanted to write. My husband and I are planning a trip for my fortieth birthday in November and are looking at exactly the list you were. We've narrowed it down to Jumby Bay, Cap Juluca and Peter Island although we know the least about Peter Island. What prompted me to write was that I spent 11 December vacations at Dorado Beach when I was a kid and I compare everything to those memories!! We took our honeymoon at Little Dix Bay which was great, but when funds allowed, we took our first family vacation back to Dorado. I even recognized all of the same people behind the desks. Do you remember Betsey? Buddha? It was a hoot!! By the way, if anyone else reads this and would like to give some advice please feel free!

I didn't read all 62 posts, so I apologise if I'm being redundant...The Luxury Rooms are great at Cap. The only difference between them and a Junior Suite was a double tub, I believe. Try to get a second floor room- better view I thought.
If you like lush, think about St. Lucia. I haven't been yet, just researched it for a work project. Ladera has great off-season rates and you could split it with the Jalousie, which is just below, so you could have your watersports. Hope this helps. When I have more time, I'm going to read through all the threads, it looks like you got some great suggestions. Let us know what you decide.

I didn't realize this thread was three years old! LOL. I see Redwolf chose Peter Island. Can't wait to read all about it.
