Embassy Suites vs Hampton Inn

We will be staying for one night in San Juan both on our way to and from Vieques in March. We have 3 kids and are looking for a decent pool and beach close to the airport. Rates are similiar for both hotels. Any comments? Thanks!

We've stayed at the Embassy Suites twice and found it just fine. The extra room is great with kids, and you have the manager's reception and free breakfast. It's also got a great pool and is an easy walk to the beach at Isla Verde, which is beautiful. It's about a 3 minute cab ride from the airport. We'd happily stay there again.

Hampton Inn is a little cheaper, also closer to the beach! Nice pool as well. Embassy Suites, however, does have an Outback Restaurant as well as small casino.

Neither is on the beach but the Hampton is closer. The Suites has a much better pool. I would chose the Embassy Suites - have stayed at both.
