Eleuthera groceries

I haven't seen any mention about purchasing groceries on the island. Are there any recommendations? What about the prices? My wife and I are staying in Palmetto point. Any help would be appreciated.

There are grocery stores not far from you. The largest store on Eleuthera is in Governours Harbour and you will go right by it heading south to Palmetto Point. There is also a smaller grocery store on Queens Highway at Palmetto Point and it carries staples, milk, meat, canned goods, ice cream, and juice/soda. There are also a couple of fruit stands in the area as well.

At Palmetto Point, there is a really GOOD pizza nite spot called Mate and Jenny's and Maitlin the owner makes an AMAZING conch pizza, worth the trip to Eleuthera right there, lol.

Hope this helps.

It has been over a year since we were there but we stayed in NPP and enjoyed going to Island Farms several times- you can get some fresh, grown on the spot produce, wonderful homemade breads (about 7 kinds but on certain days of the week- check with locals- well worth a special trip), homemade jams, relishes, etc. Be sure to add a trip there into your grocery plans. We took a rolling cooler with some frozen steaks, pork tenderloin, pasta sauce, etc. and bought everything else locally. These days with baggage charges, I would not do that again. You might want to pack a very small amount of any special spices to cook with that you don't want to have to search for or pay for a container. There are a couple of markets in GH, and a couple of convenience size stores in NPP- if Tia's is there it has some basics as well as a small produce place I can't remember the name of- where are you staying?
The poster who gave you the website gave you excellent advice- we printed and used many of those tips, especially the info about the best beaches on the island, restaurants, etc.
Have a great trip!!
