El Yunque Rainforest

Husband and I took the El Yunque Rainforest tour recently. The only form of transportation to the rainforest is by tour unless you want to rent a taxi or rent a car.
You'll see a lot of trees and hear a lot of birds but you won't see the birds, frogs, small animals there. The path to the waterfalls is narrow and you'll do quite a bit of climbing up the path to get there. It's interesting but not worth $65.00 a person.

Sounds like you picked the wrong tour. Who did you book with?

We took a taxi tour my last trip and had a great time. Looking forward to going back this year.

Cheapest way to get to El Yunque is renting a car. Drive there is real easy especially now that the Route 66 toll road has been completed.

I go there often with my son and usually see a few birds, frgs, snails spiders, etc.. you just have to look closeky. Also its best to get there as early as possible to avoid the crowds.

For anyone planning on seeing La Mina Falls - the easiest trail is Big Tree Trail - it is well paved and not as many steps as La Mina Trail
