ejcrowe's complete Grenada trip report

Hi, folks. I've finally completed my trip report from my May 2007 and posted it on the Grenada Travel Forum. They're having a trip report contest over there, so if you read it and think it's any good, please register for a user name and vote for it.

http://grenadatravelforum.com/index.php?showtopic=2495

Thanks!

I give ejcrowe's trip report 4 paws up! A truly outstanding trip report. Everyone should read it. It made me fall in love with Grenada and I haven't even been there.

Emily, great report. I registered, just waiting for email confirmation so I can vote for you. I don't see how to rate the reports. Maybe I have to wait for confirmation?

Beautiful report. Love how Grenada makes on wax lyrical. I'll be sure to toss in my vote (as Sailor Girl). Too bad it's so hard to get there -- otherwise I'd go every year.

Also, can't beat the ceviche at Aguaviva in San Juan!

Great trip report! I've bookmarked it for when we head to Grenada next March. You have my vote for the contest.

Thanks for your kind words, y'all.

And I meant to say earlier that it's definitely worth it to read the other trip reports on the same thread in the Grenada Travel Forum. It wouldn't really be fair to rate my trip report without reading those.

Thanks so much! I'm extremely eager to win that contest!

Emily, Great report. I hope you win. If I register to vote, will I get instructions?

I can relate to the joy of sharing pictures with children. When we were in China, I took a polaroid camera (remember those?) with me. We were out in the back country on a grass research project. We met three teen girls walking. Our guide talked to them, and asked if they would like a picture taken. Their first picture. You can imagine how delighted and excited a teen would be to see herself for the first time in a picture. As we drove away, I looked back to see them still pouring over it. At another stop, a grandmother saw I had a camera that quickly produced a picture. She motioned for me to follow her. She took me to her house where she wanted me to take a first picture of her new grandbaby. Highlights of my trip.

I hope you win. Thanks for the report. owa

owa, I loved your story about the camera! Isn't it funny how some things that we take for granted become the great connector that we're looking for?

You've traveled to so many places in your life--you're another travel role model for me!

If you register to be a user on the Grenada Travel Forum, you can read the trip report and rate it against other trip reports out of 5 stars. I'd love it if you would rate it, but more importantly, rate it fairly against the other trip reports.

ej, after reading your report I know you totally understand my love for SVG. I intend to take advantage of your review and visit some of the places you described when I visit Grenada post SVG and WJ. I would love to spend a week or so on Grenada but vacation time is limited and I have so much to pack into those few precious days. Now if the airlines would only do a better job of getting us there instead of me having to waste 2 full days of vacation just traveling to and from. 40 more days and counting.

ummm, I'm feeling a little sheepish, but I'm not above begging. There's been another step added to the voting process over on www.grenadatravelforum.com

They're now asking for people to choose just one trip report as the winner. I'm slightly more uncomfortable asking y'all to do this rather than just using the old star system to rate, but I'm asking anyway. Please go to this link and vote for the best trip report. If you think mine is the best, by all means, vote for it. But there are some other really great ones on there, too.

Thanks in advance,
ej
