Early 20's Couple

My Boyfriend and I are looking to go to a resort in the Caribbean this summer. At first people told us to check out the Sandals resorts but we thought we would be bored and maybe even too young compared to all the other guests. Any thoughts ?

Also we looked at Atlantis and it looked like we would never get bored but thought it would be a bit too loud and congested.
Some other places we've researched are Aruba and Turks and Cacaos

Were really up for anything. All inclusive or not! Were looking for a relaxing but not boring vacation. Please help were so lost!!

Put a list together of the 5 most important things you want on your vacation, and I'm sure folks here will be able to make some suggestions. Kind of hard to do that when you haven't told us what you like & want to do. All we know so far is that you (might) be bored at Sandals, but are afraid of Atlantis being too busy.

Check out Secrets Maroma. Its a couples only resort with a ton of activities on a gorgeous beach. The service and restaurants are excellent. Also the beach itself is also top notch. You can take several tours. We really enjoyed the tour of the mayan ruins in Tulum. If you need more activities you can also go to Playa del carmen which is a 20 min cabride away.

If you want to go to the Caribbean, you'll have to go farther south than the Bahamas, LOL! Do you need an all-inclusive resort? Or could you do with a more self-catering approach?

What is your budget? How long do you want to be on your vacation?
The Riviera Maya area of Mexico would offer relaxation and plenty to explore if you choose. There are ruins to explore, zip lining, snorkel and scuba site, etc.

All inclusive would be nice but not necessary.
Budget is around 4,000 and we would probably want to stay 5 days

For that budget, look into the Riviera Maya of Mexico. You can easily find a luxury resort for an entire week for that price. Plenty to do for activities in that area, and a plethora of resort to choose from.

For that budget, I'd go to St. John. If you wanted to blow out your budget you could even stay in Caneel Bay (the island's best resort). There's both excellent hiking and snorkeling in St. John. This is not an all-inclusive resort, but you'll spend about $450 a night for accommodations, $500 each for flights, and you'd have $1000 for meals and drinks. The resort offers meal plans, but they're expensive (about $130 to $150 per person). And there are a lot of good restaurants in town away from the resort.

Little Dix Bay in Virgin Gorda is also great, but it's more expensive to reach and a bit more expensive than Caneel Bay in the first place.

I think you might also like Providenciales, and it's a good place to go for a honeymoon. Most rooms are condo style, but there are some resorts with all the amenities, but they are expensive. But there's less to do on land there. So if you want to hike, that's not really an option in the Turks & Caicos.
