Eagle Beach Smells?

Hello all. This is my first time posting and I need help.

A friend and I are planning a trip to Aruba. I have read posts complaining of the sewage smell on Eagle Beach - where we want to stay.

Is this true and if so how bad is it?

Thanks!

According to the long time members of the Aruba board on Trip Advisor, at one time there was a sewage plant close to Eagle Beach located near the Amsterdam Manor hotel. When the wind blew a certain way the smell was powerful. The plant has since been closed, so no more odors. However, there have been some recent reviews indicating the sewage smell is back. It has been explained that illegal dumping has been going on at the closed site, which has since been rectified. There shouldn't be any problems now.

We just came back from staying next to the Amsterdam hotel on Eagle beach. We didn't notice any kind of smells. Weather and beach were simply wonderful..and you couldn't as any more from the people that we met both visitors and hotel workers-they were very friendly and helpful. We had a great time..and like so many people that we met..we will go back.
