Eagle Beach
Would like to hear some input on Eagle Beach. Have been to Aruba twice, 2001 and 2003, but always stayed at a high rise on Palm Beach. Never stayed at a low rise on Eagle Beach. Any opinions?

Northern part of Eagle Beach, right in front of former La Cabana: rather crowded.
Middle part: empty. Southern part (by Bucuti, Manchebo, Costa Linda): far fewer people per square meter than Palm Beach. In general: wider than Palm (distance from waterline to hotels), less crowded, somewhat bigger waves, more topless sunbating (esp. southern part). I prefer it to Palm Beach but those who want to be "where the action is" probably don't. |
What about the wind issue vs. Palm?
|
Good question, capri. I guess we've been lucky - didn't experience significant wind in either beach area. We found it windier on the north shore of Jamaica. Perhaps others who have encountered the infamous Aruba winds can comment.

Regarding the winds...I noticed when we stayed at the Wyndham the sand blew a lot when we were lying on the beach, while at the Ocidental the sand seemed to be of a different (better) quality and did not blow at all.
