Driving times around Guadeloupe
Hi, we are going to Guadeloupe for the 1st time in May, staying in Ste-Anne. Does anyone know how long it takes to drive from Ste-Anne to various points of interest in Basse-Terre? We are especially interested in visiting Chutes de Carbet, La Soufriere, and Cascade aux Ecrevisses. Wondering if we can see these sights by taking day trips from our base in Ste-Anne, or if we should plan on spending one-two nights on the Basse Terre side. Thanks for your input!

If you rent a car, you can easily drive from Ste Anne to the various interesting sites of Basse-Terre, i.e. to Chutes de Carbet, should take you around 1 hour and 15 minutes to get there, provided you avoid rush hours around Pointe-a-Pitre area.
The Cascade aux Ecrevisses is a little closer to get to and getting to la Soufriere will take a bit longer (maybe 1hour and a half).
On the other hand staying a couple of nights around Basse-Terre is also a good idea, since the scenery is pretty nice.
You can enjoy sunrise and sunset and not to have to worry driving back when it's dark, since roads are very curvy in the area.
Enjoy your stay anyway. Guadeloupe is a great island to discover.
