Dress Code
 

Hi - We will be going to Madame Jeanette's, Matilde's, Aqua Grill, and La Tratattoria's. What is the dress code for those restaurants? will nice jeans and a fancy top be sufficient for me and a button down for my husband (with nice jeans as well)

Knowing the island would be a start:)

The mystery was killing me! I can't stand questions left unanswered.

So I googled these places. Looks like they're in Aruba.

I have to think that reposting with the subject "Dress code for Aruba restaurants" would be more likely to get an informed response.

If you think what you will be wearing won't be acceptable, then don't wear it. Simple. You know how you look at other people when there wear stuff they shouldn't in restaurants, so you kind of have an idea what to wear. Nothing wrong with jeans and shirts. I see guys wearing tank tops and ball caps at nice restaurants and wonder where they were brought up!

No place in Aruba is that fancy. The best places serve cabrito. . . Short answer, nice jeans is more than sufficient.

i have been to all of these restaurants and they are very good. Mathilde is a bit more upscale than the others, but you will be fine in a dressy top and jeans. However, if you have a sundress, or slacks, this would be the place to wear them.
By the way, I found this posting on the Caribbean site, Aruba drop down so there was no question that you posted in the right spot.

Oh my, not <i>cabrito</i>! I tend not to judge restaurants by their tequila selections -- I mean, even at Per Se you can request plain old tap water, right? -- but casual attire is accepted just about everywhere on Aruba. Nice jeans and a fancy top or button-down will be fine. (Tank tops and shorts would get you in the door most places, but dressing nicely is always, well, nice.)

You'd be better off at Chez Mathilda with a sundress or gauze pants.
