Does anyone have any good reccomendations for restaurants in Aruba?

Hello All,

My husband, daughter and I are planning on going to Aruba the end of this month. We are gourmet eaters and love various cuisines. Does anyone have suggestions as to where to eat? Would greatly appreciate it.

Oh my gosh - there are so many:
Madame Jeanettes
Papiamento
Chez Mathilde
Aqua Grille
Gasparito's
and many many others.
Aruba is a favorite wintertime destination for me and the high quality of restaurants is one of the reasons. Go and enjoy yourself!!!

Madame Jeanette's is the best restaurant on the island by far. The hotel restaurants are all good however, more pricey than some of the other's. Not mentioned was Marandi's which was changing location but look for that too.

janillk - I'm sure we would all appreciate your evaluation of the restaurants you went to, when you come back. Thanks ((*))

I agree with Auntie Mame.. Chef's Table by far is one of the best. Mirandi's owners opened a new restaurant at Casa Del Mar with a view of the water. Getting great reveiws. I believe it is called Matthew's.

Writing this while sitting at the airport in Aruba, headed home:
We highly recommend Yemanja - http://www.yemanja-aruba.com
Just a picture. Between 4 of us we had steak and seafood. All excellent and the service was perfect and the prices very reasonable. New building and furniture. The food plating was well done. Also enjoyed the Driftwood, except for the obnoxious table of Americans next to us. Semi drunk and their vocab consisted of mostly 4 letter words. People in their mid forties. BTW I'm from the USA.

We are also gourmet eaters so I hope these reviews are helpful.Just remember Aruba is mor casual but we found the service and food excellent.Restaurant I would not miss are ventanas Del mar(probably the best restaurant in Aruba),Flying Fishbone,Screaming eagle,Papiamento.

1.Footprints-excellent food, presentation was somewhat commercial but it was nice to dine on the sand and watch the sunset.I liked this restaurant but I would not choose this for your special romantic dinner on the beach.Pampered in Paradise,Simply fish would probably be a better choice.
2.Le Dome-The food was very good, excellent service and nice atmosphere.
3.Ventanas Del Mar-Excellent meal-the chef from Matilde is now there. The food is almost as good as the view.Highly rec.this restaurant for couples.
4.Flying Fishbone-I now know why everyone loves this place. We loved it and it is certainly worth the trip(25-30 minutes).Definitely try and catch the sunset.Oh and we loved our meals as well
5.Sreaming Eagle-Excellent food and I believe they have the same owners as the Flying Fishbone.Trendy elegant Manhattan atmosphere, great for honeymooners as they have beds in the bar area.
6.Papiamento-Great food with a romantic atmosphere,Ask to sit poolside.we loved this restaurant.
7-Madame Jeanettes-Great food-nice garden with music, great for families. We liked this restaurant but thought the atmosphere was not authentic. Also be sure not to sit under the deck as it can be warm.
8.Mirandi-Casual nice atmosphere but I have to say the food was not good. They are moving so maybe things will improve.

"Do try faro de blanco, that place up by the lighthouse."

Oh yes. We stopped there and had a lunch of salad and pizza. Very good.

I don't recall what we had but it was at dinner time and it was my wifes BD. However she always saves room for dessert :D and the tiramisu was really good. :-)

We must have hit Madame Jeanettes on a bad night; our best dinners in Aruba were at The Dome...
