Do you dream about a perfect beach in the Caribbean?
We travel frequently. I feel like Paris is my second home. But when I need a "visual" it's always of Grace Bay, Turks & Caicos----I'm in my beach chair with a mango margarita and a good book, looking out at that gorgeous sea.
What is your "visual"? |
The view of the Caribbean from the balcony of my condo on Ambergris Caye in Belize.

Woodlands Beach, Montserrat

Oh my, that is very difficult to answer. I've seen so many beautiful beaches and each have that certain something that makes it special.
A favorite is on Petit St. Vincent looking out at Mopion and watching sailboats in the distance, all with a cool beverage in hand and the listening to the waves. |
Anchored on a sailboat somewhere in the Exuma Park. Every direction I look, there is a creamy white beach or sandbar with no one on it, just waiting for my footprints.

((y)) Callaloo
So many beaches, so little time. |
Well, it's sitting on my balcony in Anguilla, over looking the Caribbean sea and St. Martin with a Margarita in hand at sunset. Nothing better than that!

We have been talking about a trip next spring with some friends and Greece is at the top of their wish list, so I guess for now, that would be it. Greece is blessed with magnificent beaches, a perfect climate when we would be going, and fantastic cultural attractions. I'm doing a lot of day dreaming lately!
|
@Knowing, Greece is our trip for next year, too. I've not been this excited about a trip in a while.

Grace Bay , Turks & Caicos right in front of The Somerset resort

...Sigh....in total agreement Callaloo. The abundant, breathtaking beaches of the Out Islands does it for me everytime I find myself dreaming, which is often lately, having returned about a week ago from Grace Bay, T&C. The aforementioned GB memories are lingering and somehow holding me hostage in the "real" world!!
And let us not forget the honey-colored beaches of Antigua, lined with palms, seagrapes, flowering bushes, green hills with amazing blue waters...... what a summer! |
Flamenco Beach, Culebra Puerto Rico

Really, almost any beach on any of my favorite islands will do. But my dreams and daydreams alike are mostly haunted by La Sagesse on Grenada and Upper Shoal Bay in Anguilla. Utterly unlike each other, but both are soul-soothing.
|
When we were in Turks and Caicos we took a long walk on Grace Bay Beach. At one point along our walk we couldn't see anyone else on the beach in either direction. I couldn't believe that there wasn't another sole on this gorgeous beach. For a few moments it felt like we had a private beautiful beach all to ourselves. I took a mental picture to save for when I needed to rejuvenate myself.

Davis Bay, St Croix - where the rain forest and mountains meet the sea, with an isolated white sand beach that on a good day makes you feel like there is no one else on the planet (on a crowded day there might be a half dozen people).
|
my dreams are filled with three memories...of the stunning sunset on Morne Rouge Beach in Grenada...with the softest sand ever it seemed. Agreed with ejcrowe - the pristine stunning nature of La Sagesse the palm trees lining the beach there....the littl restaurant with fabulous rum punch, greek salad and chocolate mousse...looking out over the palms and the sand and the endlessly rolling waters...finally (oop. no wait.) The view of Nevis from deserted Cockelshells beach in St.Kitts....cows and goats keeping us company and now finally - Shipwreck beach bar....on Friars Beach....beach colada....endless ocean, boats breezing by....sand and peace....ok sorry that was 4 but go find out why I couldn't choose one.
|
Can't pick just one! Shoal Bay East on Anguilla - with a rum punch from Gwen's
Govenour's Beach on St. Barts - with bottle of wine - baguette and some cheese Tobago Keys - Grenedines -with a Carib Turkshead on Grace Bay! Mac's Pizza on Bequia! |
