Dinning on Provo

Hi All,

My wife and I are staying at the Sands on Grace Bay for two glorious weeks. I would like your help with finding good restaurants. We haven't decided to rent a car yet or not (the driving on the left thing) so I'm interested in restaurants that are walking distance (whatever that is) from the Sands as well as your recommendation about renting a car or using taxis. Normally what we do is a late breakfast then an early-ish dinner -- no lunch unless it is a golf or diving day.

So, where do we eat???

Thank you in advance for your help.

Rental cars come out cheaper than taxi. Real easy to drive, straight roads you can take slowly, and locals can spot tourists and make way for them. ;-)

Tuesday nights Lobster madness ON the beach with live singers-awesome night.

Wed night tiki Hut $13 ribs

Thurday night at Sands-Hemingways has live music. Somewhere On The Beach has live music too.

Friday nights live music and tapas at O'Soleil

Sat. happy hours with live music at Seven Stars-you can dine on yummy appts (4:30-7:30)

Expensive but best meal on island Coco Bistro

Mango Reef at RWI has prix fix menu M-Thur, nice mid-range restaurant

Thai Orchid has good thai carry out

A really romantic night would be drinks at Anacaona followed by dessert at Coyaba--the chocolate fondant is out of this world

Baci has decent Italian

Magnolia's makes great appetizers I make for my meal

Yoshi's has good Japanese food

Most require transportation--it's really easier than you think!

blamona, thank you for such detail. This is a great list. I'm very interested to try warm water lobster because I am from Maine where the best lobster come from:)

Our favorites----Coyaba and Coco Bistro.

Also not mentioned is Iguana Steak House---it sometimes gets bad reviews, but we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner there.

OTOH, Magnolia has a stunning view but the food wasn't very good. And for us O'Soleil was our worst experience in 2 trips to Grace Bay---maybe we just hit an off night.

Iguana is closed- fyi
O'Soleil is our favorite ...
