Mahobaygirl,
Yes, Hidden Beach is the same as Secret Beach. I agree there wasn't much to see with a snorkel but the sand was so pale and the water so clear that we enjoyed swimming there.

Hector (owner of Hector's by the sea) told us about a black sand beach that we could walk to from the beach at the end of their property but we didn't make it that far. It might be the same one you went to....

owa,
I think there were so many boats at Green beach because it was Thanksgiving and a long weekend. They were from Puerto Rico and there was a definite loud party atmosphere. Hopefully, you'll have better luck in January.

We all enjoyed the biobay trip with Island Adventures ( I hope they survive this setback as they seemed environmentally sound and proactive )We wished we'd brought a mask along to view the 'glow' underwater. My daughter said she was lit up like a Christmas tree and I was wearing lots of sparkly diamonds.

Overall we loved Vieques apart from the mosquitoes! :)
BTW, we also tried the flan (coconut and vanilla versions)sold at a house very near the Malecon and it was too sweet for us (made with condensed milk)

to be honest. from tamarindo.. you shouldnt walk at night.. the roads are much more dangerous to walk then to drive.. remember they are very narrow and winding.. at least in a car you have headlights and protection. unless as mentioned you go to carambola.. but i will tell you now, as a vieques resident.. the food does NOT come reccomended by most. youd be better off driving a little ways to esperanza and eating at bili. i would REALLY reccomend driving to Isabel II and eating at media luna, Mbar or Uva, taverna espannola or topacio. DELICIOUS.
