desperate to find perfect A1 beach location

My husband and I (32 years old)have been married 9 years and have two small children. We're taking the kids to Myrtle Beach in July but we are also desperate for a vacation of our own. We have narrowed the search and need expert input.

*gorgeous beach and crystal blue water
*A1 (don't want to worry about $ while we're there)
*decent food and drinks
*gorgeous and super clean resort
*nice pool
*things to do/some nightlife
*price range is $3,000-$3500

We've narrowed it down to:
*Couples Negril
*Couples Swept Away Negril
*Royal Hideaway Playa de Carmen
*Paradisus Punta Cana
*Norwegian Cruise to Grand Cayman, Cozumel,& Keywest in April
*Celbrity Cruise to Bermuda In June

I would really appreciate your opinions. I am going out of my mind and blind to boot doing research. I'm looking forward to hear all the responses!

Thank you so much in advance,

Paradisus Punta Cana hands down! Were there in 2004 and as soon as we returned home, booked for 2005. Can hardly wait. Check out my trip report on Debbie's Carib site.

did you consider sandals in St lucia? We are around your age and we absolutly loved it, had a great time! We too are considering Negril Swept away, couples this year. Let me know how it is!

I would rule out St. Lucia if priorities are a great beach and crystal clear water.

St Lucia sounds amazing. We will eventually go there but we need the beautiful beach this time.

My thoughts: Would not consider a cruise because rooms are very small and you're always in a crowd, Would strongly consider San Souci (best in Jamaica) and Grand Lido Negril in Jamaica, Swept Away is a good choice, would avoid Punta Cana unless you want to deal with other people's kids, and also look at El Dorado resorts in Mexico (adult only).

Swept Away is what you are looking for.

I love St. Lucia but not for its beaches.

Grand Lido is lovely but CSA much more tropical and romantic (I have stayed 4x at each).

Sandals is too "in your face" for me and also too young (we are 48 and 52), plus I found that their quality level has severely declined over the past 5 years.
