Desperate in trying to find the perfect wedding spot!

My fiance and I are planning a small (20-25 guests) beach wedding in the caribbean - target date of Nov 17th, 2007. We are looking for a small, intimate resort, rustic mixed with luxury that will be easily to get to within 5 hours of the east coast. A place where we can scuba dive and hang out at a spa too. I'm having trouble narrowing down the resorts - some are way too big and touristy for our style and others look like someone else's house turned into a "resort". A place that has above-average food and isn't cheesy. Any recommendations? We are targeting room rates of less than $300 a night. We really liked the Coppola resorts in Belize but unfortunately they do not do weddings. A possibility or are we not in touch with reality?

You may want to check out the resorts on Harbour island off of eleuthera. Very chic island with several nice small resorts (coral sands, pink sands, romora bay, the landing etc).

I agree that you might look into Harbour Island. There are several nice resorts on island and several price ranges. There are a few restaurants on island that could host your entire group for a dinner or reception.

I did a wedding at Runaway Hill that was beautifully done, and the wedding was held on the deck with lots of flowers, and righ at sunset.

Check some of these websites.

www.briland.com

Hope this helps, and have a great trip.

Cane Garden Bay, Tortola, BVI, was a beautiful location for our daughter's wedding in June. Loved the entire island. . .Brandywine Bay Restaurant was fabulous for a rehearsal dinner!

Forgot the main part--Myett's, Cane Garden Bay. Claudia was an excellent wedding coordinator--took care of everything, making the entire event very smooth and enjoyable for the couple and the guests.

Thank you to everyone for your advice!! I posted this right after Christmas and was so busy that I forgot to check it or remember my password and secret question.

I looked at Harbour Island and it looked beautiful.

How were the rooms at Myett's? I can't tell by looking at their website. My mom is a bit high maintenance and is used to only staying in very very expensive hotels(Ritz-Carlton like) - so I want to make sure that the rooms are clean and up to date.

Thank you!

What about Round Hill in Jamaica? That's where John F. Kennedy and Jackie spent their honeymoon.

There on season rates are $660 a night but in Summer they are $350. If you have a wedding party, they might be even lower.

We are going in April and are very excited!

Oops, I said Summer rates - but I think their less expensive rates go from April 14-Dec 14. Something like that...so November would be included.

Somewhat more expensive than your stated buget goal, but they do say that there is a special rate for family and friends on their Wedding Planner page............

P.S. the place is awesomely romantic.
