Day trip to St. Kitts from Antigua?

Hi there,

I have heard that you can take a day trip from Antigua to St. Kitts but can't find anyone that has done this. I was hoping posting a message here would help. Has anyone done this and if so, how long did it take?

Thank You!!!

I can't tell you if there are any organized tours, but if you leave on Caribbean Star's earliest flight, it would be easy enough to to fly to St. Kitts (about 30 minutes) and then take a tour of the island. Then you fly back in the afternoon (another 30 minutes). I can't tell you the fare, but when I flew St. Lucia to Barbados on Caribbean Star earlier this year, it cost about $45. You can't book these flights on line; you have to call Caribbean Star directly or wait until you are on the island, where you can use the toll-free number.

LIAT (www.liatairline.com) has several daily flights between Antigua and St. Kitts. You can leave in the morning and return in the afternoon or early evening. Fare is about $33 each way. Flight takes about 25 to 30 minutes.

Hi A_Traveller. Thanks so much for the info. Do you know how big those planes are (I'm assuming they are proper planes?) I can't seem to find that info on the website.

I don't know the names of the models, but I believe that all of the LIAT aircraft are prop planes. I've flown LIAT several times and most frequently they were small planes with a 2-2 seating. However, once on a flight from Nevis to Antigua my LIAT flight was on a Carib aircraft and was a tiny 8-seater. An Otter, maybe?

Usually LIAT flies Dash-8's. These are mid-size twin turbo-prop planes. They hold about 36 passengers (sorry don't remember exact capacity).
