Curacao restaurants

Hello,

We will be going to Curacao in April and are looking for good restaurants to try for lunch. We will have a rental car so we will be able to drive around the island.

Our hotel is the Papagayo and I understand that the restaurant there (Zanzibar?) is pretty good. Can anyone recommend other good restos in Willemstad and around the island? are there any restos serving good local delicacies?

Thanks!

Hello jacolis,

First of all, you will love Curacao. Our favorite restaurant was Bistro Le Clochard. Easy to get to with a rental car. The Wine Cellar is also near the downtown area. Addtionally, Belle Terrace does Keshi Yena (a local dish made with cheese and meat) Very good! Sorry, I know nothing about Zanzibar. Have a great time!

Another vote for The Wine Cellar! We also enjoyed Gouvernour 'De Rouville for lunch. It is in town near the Hotel Kura Hulanda. Enjoy Curacao!

Be very careful eating off sight. I got a very BAD case of food poisoning in Curacao last Nov. We ate at a place on a cliff, can't remember the name of it.You will be able to see all there is to see in half a day with a rental car. Enkoy the resort because it's a dry, baran, island!( Very bulit up now too)Stick to resort beaches, others were very dirty. Enjoyed our resort, (Breezes) alot!

We stayed at the Kura Hulanda and ended up eating most meals there as the food was excellent at all restaurants and the atmosphere unbeatable. The Museum Restaurant is open for lunch and dinner and reasonably priced with great food. It is worth it just to go and walk around the hotel grounds-you feel like you are in a tranquil European village and the museum is a must see. There are also loads of waterfront restaurants and cafes and it is interesting to sit and watch the bridge swing open and close while boats and ships pass through while you enjoy a cold drink and pressed sandwich.

Enjoy your stay in Curacao - it was the best vacation we have ever experienced!
