Curacao
Looking for things to do in Curacao. We will be coming in on a cruise and have never been. Also St Kitts and Aruba.
Any ideas would be great..... |
Hi FLSUN - we just got back from Curacao - just a few hours ago ! My recommendation would be to stay on the ship and enjoy the pool !! RCCL was in port while we were there and it looked like a lot of people did just that. Sorry.

-You can take a tour of the Hato Caves (lasts about 40 minutes).
-You can go into town and see all the homes/buildings with Dutch architecture. Lots of history. Pretty neat. |
whatever you do, absolutely do not miss the wonderful Dutch houses in Willemstad.
take a walking tour and feast your eyes. they are absolutely marvelous and unlike anything you will see anywhere else in the Caribbean or even Holland for that matter. Willemstad is the only World Heritage Site in the Caribbean. check this web site for a picture of some of those houses: http://z.about.com/d/travelwithkids/...street_200.jpg The picture only gives you a little idea of the beauty of theses buildings. |
Hit the beach in Curacao! The west side of the island has tranquil waters due to their sheltered bays. They are good for both swimming and snorkeling. I personally think the best beaches are along the southern part of the island, just west of Williamstad.
I just came back from Nevis five days ago and visted St. Kitts while I was there. I would go see the Brimstone Fort. In Aruba, there are plenty of shops and if you're interested in bringing home gifts, this would be the place to do it. I know that sometimes people don't get off the ships as they've visited that island before and sometimes they've been there several times, but it doens't sound like you have, so do enjoy! |
