Cuban baseball

Has anyone been to a baseball game in Havana? We are traveling to Cuba in March and would love to see a game.

Yes, it's a lot of fun though as in any baseball crazy country, when the top teams are in town (Santiago for one) it can sometimes be hard to get in. Now... there aren't tickets per se. they just let people in until the stadium is full. Tourists pay in CUC (about 5 bucks a game) while local Cubans pay 2 or 3 Moneda Nacional.

The games are played at Estadio Latinoamericano in the Cerro district of Havana. It's about 1/2 mile southeast of Plaza de la Revolution. You can find it/see it on Google maps.
Between Avenida 20 de Mayo y Pedro Perez at Amenidad.

Here's a link to the Marzo (March) Schedule. Now, Havana has two teams. The Industriales is the number one team and the Metropolitanos are the second team. Either provides a good game, but the Industriales are generally the better team.
The team listed on the schedule with the (HC) is the home club so just look down the schedule to find either Industriales or Metropolitanos as the HC.

Here's a few photos from one of the games I was at a couple of years ago. The first is a panorama of the inside of the stadium.

Enjoy yourself and have a great time.

Lucky you! We were in Cuba last February and seeing a game was number one on our list. We're American and had to travel to Cuba with an organized group. But our group leader was able to arrange for a game for several in the group. It was great! The Industriales were not in town so we saw the Metropolitanos. Enrique Diaz, all-time Cuban baseball leader in hits and seven other categories, was the star. It was a weekday afternoon game, a lively crowd but not full.
You might also enjoy stopping by Parque Central in downtown Havana where avid sports fans have government issued permits to congregate and discuss baseball. Cubans love their baseball!
