Wheeled luggage I can stow in a sailboat?

I need some advice on luggage I could stow on a sailboat for a week or more (Caribbean bareboat charter). Rigid luggage or stuff with stiffeners would make it hard to stow in the limited space aboard a sailboat. A fabric duffel would be ideal except I want to wheel it through multiple airports. It does not have to be carryon sized, I will probably check it. Any ideas????

Big medium wheeled backpack stores well works best for me

Stores well on sailboats as it is not rigid rolls well also.

Always carry on so no baggage fees even on Spirit

where there is no charge to fit it under the seat in

front of you... www.onebag.com good packing info

Best most cost-effective way to travel efficiently for me.

Happy Journey,

if you plan to snorkel or dive - fins won't usually fit in carryon size bags.
these might work. they come in a couple sizes

A wheeled duffle colapses nicely for stowing once you are on the boat. I use a lightweight 24" that I check but is pretty room an folds down for storage.

Hey suze,
I have looked at several wheeled duffels and they have rigid backs and bottoms. Very bulky. What brand/manufacturer do you use??

Just about any rolling duffel will fold flat enough to store. I have found great luggage deals at ebags.com

Ed, Mine's actually just a freebie I got from Office Depot. Yes it does have a rigid back/bottom where the wheeled mechanism is. But the sides of the duffle are soft so fold in on itself, making is more compact when empty than a regular rolling suitcase.

Another thought is to one of those collapsible racks with wheels that you strap a softsided bag onto.

Bottomline is there's a certain amount of bulk you are going to have to deal with if you have to have wheels on your luggage. Really no way around that.
