Cruises for persons over 50
Hello everyone,

I am planning on sending my mom on a week-to 10 day long Carribean cruise. She's 75 years old, and has never been on one before. She's not very active, and I want her to get into a situation where she can have some fun and meet people. Maybe get some nature or culture into her life. She's not into gambling or partying, and I don't want to put her on a ship with a bunch of college students out for spring break (no offense to the college students reading this).

I purused the web, and Celebrity Cruises looked like they had the best deal for cruises, but I'm not sure they are exactly what I had in mind for my mom (in that they can accomodate elderly persons).

Can I get any ideas from anyone as to what would be the best (or as close to) deal and most accomodating for my mom? Much Thanks for your help, everyone!

I think your Mom would be quite comfortable on a Holland America cruise.
I think your Mom would be quite comfortable on a Holland America cruise. Check with a travel agent. Sometimes they can get you a better price than what the brochures show.
PS. Sorry about the double posting... A message came up saying it was having problems with the first one, but it went through anyway.
Different cruise lines cater to different types of travellers. Your best bet is to go through a travel agent who will pick a cruise that best suites your mother's needs. There are some grear prices at www.travelunlimited.com

Avoid Carnival for mom, it's a party line. Royal Caribbean is nice and if you have the $$$ Seabourne or Crystal would be worth looking into.

My parents, who are in their 50's, raved about the 2 Commodore Cruises they went on. They like d the first one so much that they even took my grandmother, who is in her 70's, with them onthe second one!
