Cruise Ships Dock in Georgetown

We would like to avoid the crowds in Georgetown. What days do the cruise ships dock in Georgetown?

It varies, but you can see the cruise ship schedule at:

Take a look at www.cruisecal.com.

Go to the Main Calendar on the left. Select the dates you are considering for your trip, and then type in "Georgetown" for the port. Hit search and see what comes up.

Call me crazy, but Georgetown can be kind of fun when the cruise ships are in. Go late in the afternoon to the 2nd floor bar that looks out over the harbor (I can't remember the name) and watch the cruisers que up for their return to the ships.

A word of caution about avoiding Georgetown when the ships are NOT in town: we were there a couple of weeks ago on a Friday when there were no ships, and many of the shops were closed. I don't know if that was an anomoly or a result of the fact that there were no ships in town. On the days that there were ships, we just waited until later in the afternoon and had no problems with crowds - and all the shops were open.
