Cozumel, Hotel Presidente - Worth it?

I am planning a Honeymoon.

Do they have special rates for Honeymooners?

Read lots about the great beach/snorkelling at the Presidente. Are the beachfront rooms worth it..? What should I expect to pay for a 7 night stay?

Don't want to spend too much on the room... but don't want to second guess myself when I get there...

Are there travel packages that anyone has found that offered savings?

Would you suggest breaking up the 7 nights within Cozumel and Playa Del Carmen?

i know you are asking about the Hotel Presidente, but I was in Cozumel one year ago and Drove around the island and looked at most of the hotels. We wanted to stay at a very nice hotel and ended up at the Plaza Las Glorias which we thought had beautiful room at a beautiful location. All rooms face the ocean and are suites. I would highly recommend this hotel to any friend for a honeymoon. The snorkeling off their docks was excellent...especially at night!!

I would say, yes, it is worth it. Presidente is still the best place in Cozumel. Go for it! As for breaking up your trip, you could. I probably would not. Take the ferry to Playa Del Carmen. Also, we loved Xcaret when it was not too crowded. Say Early Spring. Summer was a nightmare. Too damn hot and too many people. But do take the ferry and go to Xcaret if you want diversion from Cozumel or if you are dying for a round of golf. Have fun!

The oceanfront rooms are definitely worth it. The rooms in the main part of the hotel are very ordinary with hardly any view due to a solid wall on the balcony that is about waist high. If you have American Express points, the Presidente is in the catalog. The beach and snorkeling right off the resort make it worth it. The food is good at the hotel as well.

We were in Cozumel last June and
plan on going there this June
also. We booked our trip
through Adventure Tours. You can
visit their website
@ They offer
some really good vacation
packages to Mexico. There is
also one called Funjet vacations
and you can visit their website
also @ CHeck
out their rates. I have the
newest Adventure tours brochure
now and it does say that at the
Presidente in Cozumel they offer
honeymooners an oceanview room,
king bed, fruit basket and a
bottle of wine! Looks like the
rate is around $800/person after
April 19. It all depends on
when you go. We took our kids
and are taking them again this
time. We would love to go back
alone! It is so beautiful
there. We stayed at the
Paradisus (all-inclusive), it is
a 5-star resort and it was
wonderful. Food was great and
the resort was very romantic and
elegant. The rooms were nice
and we had a beautiful view of
the ocean. The snorkeling was
great in front of the resort but
we walked south just a little
and stepped off the rocks in
front of the ElCozumeleno and
got better snorkling there. I
guess I've rambled enough, if
you have any questions email
me!! Best of luck to you and
hope your marriage is as happy
as ours!!!
