Couples Negril vs. Swept Away

Opinions, anyone? My husband and I are planning a trip in Dec., and love AIs. Have done LOTS of Sandals and Club Meds, looking to try something new. Can't decide between these two Couples properties. Appreciate any advice!

Do you prefer a exclusive, private feel in semi-private bungalows (Swept Away)?..Or, resort feel with a more social environmment (Couples Negril)?
I would probably vote for Couples Swept Away because the two run about the same price and the Swept Away experience is not something that you will find everywhere.

I have only been to Swept Away so can't compare but I loved the rooms and lushness of Swept Away. YOu may want to post on www.couples.com - plenty of comparisons there but you may find the board pretty equally divided.

My husband and I have done Swept Away and Couples. They have the same owner--someone local. I mention that because I believe it made a difference. Not a "corporate" feel. Service at both places was great; people took a lot of pride in their work. I kind of liked the intimacy of Swept Away a little better--and their workout facilities are slightly better. Food was excellent both places. Entertainment was better at Swept Away, but that changes a lot.

Thanks, all! I think I'm leaning towards Swept Away, since we really like nothing better than to sit on the beach all day, play some golf.... I don't really need a very "social" or "active" atmosphere.
Any other input?

While Swept Away is one of the best resorts in Negril, I have read on the internet that it took a major hit from the hurricane. It would be well worth your time to determine ground truth, you can't always go by what the resort tells you.

Thanks for the heads up... I'll call them to find out...

I just got back from Couples Swept Away... it was fabulous. And the resort is open and looking great. So you should be fine... got married there on the beach on 10/2. No worries, mon.

I stayed next door to SA last week and didn't see any damage, though the new wing was clearly not finished.
