Couples Negril Double Take
 

My wife and I are scehduled to go to Couples Negril for six days starting Feb. 27. We are really looking forward to the wonderful beach and the sunsets. However, we are both interested in trying nude sunbathing for the first time, and we hear that the nude beach at Couples Negril is not ideal for first timers who may feel a little self conscious. We've also heard that Couples Ocho Rios is set up wonderfully for first timers, in that it is more private, and everyone on the island will be nude. (My wife doesn't want to be somewhere where the nude beach is in full view of everyone, which is what we are being led to beleive is the situation at CN. <BR><BR>So, we are considering doing the double take. Has anyone done this? Does it feel like you lose a day to travel? I'm just wondering how smooth the transition is. <BR><BR>Jerry

Jerry, while I haven't done the Double-Take I know many who have and highly recommend it. If you could split your time between both resorts that would be ideal. Yes, Couples OR is better suited for nude sunbathing. That resort has nude sunbathing slightly offshore on a little island. Only nude sunbathers are allowed! The privacy there is the best I can think of in comparison to other resorts on the island.<BR><BR>The resort does provide shuttle service. Maybe another traveler who's done that can elaborate.

If you don't care so much about the free shuttle, you could make a day of the transition with a private driver and do a little touring on the way...waterfalls, bird sanctuary, river cruise, whatever interests you.<BR><BR>Just a thought.

I think the ideal place would be Grand Lido Braco. The have one side of resort devoted to nudism. The rooms and suites are nicer than on the textile side.<BR>Good Luck in your decision.

My husband and I did the Double Take a few years ago. If you don't mind small planes (it sat 6) it was just fine. The small airports are about a 5 minute ride from Couples Ocho Rios, and a 2 minute ride from Couples Negril. The flight was about 45 minutes and allowed us to see the island from a different perspective. The plane can be arranged to go almost whenever you want. It's arranged just for the 2 of you. You really don't lose any part of the day traveling at all, if you view the flight as a tour. I was just so nervous that I really didn't enjoy it, but my husband did. Have a good time!

Have been to Couples OR for a holiday week and subsequently returned on the Double Take.OR facilities are more private but not always accessible. If there are waves or even mildly rough seas they close the island. On our last vaction the island was never open. Some couples had been there ten days and the island was never open. Couples OR is very confining, other than the garden ,property is overbuilt,if the weather is bad your paying a great deal for a place to read.Negril was great, beautiful beach, great place to walk, very spacious.Au Natural beach was very nice.Weather usually better in Negril.The plane ride can be rough when the weather is unsettled.

Why do you want to go there and be naked are you a pervert? Stay home and go naked in the privacy of your bedroom and do not force the rest of us to see you saggy boobs and wrinkled butts.
