Fodor's Travel Talk Forums - Couples in Jamaica, or somewhere else?

Anna, I just returned from my weddingmoon at Sandals Antigua 2 months ago and we had an amazing time! If you aren't set on Jamaica I would look into this. Let me just point out that I am not one of those "Sandals lovers" (before the bashing begins). This is the only Sandals property we have been to and probably wouldn't visit any of their other properties (but are returning to Sandals Antigua for sure!). This resort has a great laid back and romantic feel to it and is perfect for a honeymoon. It is everything you are looking for...all-inclusive (which is great so you don't have to worry about how much money you're spending while your on your honeymoon), beautiful white sand beach, calm turquoise waters, VERY relaxing, completely adult oriented, amazing lush landscaping, and great drinks on the beach (dirty bananas are the best!). We absolutely fell in love with Antigua and with this resort. I am throwing in this suggestion because when planning our honeymoon we considered Jamaica, but then we thought...everyone's been to Jamaica. We wanted somewhere different and not as "common" as Jamaica. We truly enjoyed it too. I have not stayed at Couples but have done a lot of research and can tell you that the difference in the Couples and Sandals Antigua is going to be the staff and I would imagine the food may be a bit better at Couples. The staff at SA was not a problem, but not overly friendly. While I have read MANY times that the Couples resorts have very friendly staff. The food at SA was good, although nothing spectacular (good selection and a few of the restaraunts were better than others). We really loved this resort and couldn't have imagined our honeymoon (or wedding) more perfect. We also couldn't have imagined being more relaxed than we were!!
