Cost Of Typical Day On St Barts

How much does a typical day on St. Barths cost? I'm not talking about fixed costs of flight, hotel, car rental, etc. I'm talking about lunch, dinner, a little entertainment, etc. Thanks.

I can only tell you about lunch - $20 Hamburger - mind you it was a very good hamburger. St Bart's is expensive but I liked it and if I could afford it I would return.

Depends. You can eat cheaply or expensive. (remember the "natives" have to eat and they can't afford upscale everyday.)
We stay in a hotel and breakfast is included. Our lunches run $30-50 and dinner $75 to 150 (for 2 without wine but with a drink or beer). I budget $150 to 200 per day. Charge cards are accepted most everywhere.
For inexpensive there are take-outs that are quite good.

The typical vacationer in St-Barth does not take all meals in restaurants - they stay in villas, and prepare at least some meals there with food purchased in the market. That brings the average meal cost down. As for eating out, most places are expensive, but not all are, and of course if you're the type who orders lobster and champagne you'll be in for a shock. For breakfast I buy breads/pastries at a bakery and then bring them back to where I'm staying and brew my own coffee. Cost: about $3 for two. Breakfast at Eden Rock will run about $50 for two. Or, you could have brunch at Le Gaiac and drop $120. Take your pick. The same is true for lunch or dinner. You can spend $8 for lunch for two, by buying food in the market and taking it to the beach. Or spend anywhere from $25-$80 in a restaurant. Most dinners will average about $85-150. You can pay less - I've spend as little as $40 for 2, for a simple dinner (pasta, pizza, salads, & a glass of beer, etc). You can also drop $200 or more for dinner depending on where you go and what you order.

You can spend as little or as much as you want. We found some little places near St.Jean beach that sold sandwiches, salads, etc ; bought them and took them onto the beach. We've also stopped in to a supermarche (there was a Match right across from the airport) and bought our own ham, baguettes, cheese etc. We did eat hamburgs at Le Select and they weren't too pricy (unless they're the ones that are now $20).
