coral gardens construction?

I heard that construction was supposed to begin in Dec. 2003 on new units at Coral Gardens on Provo. Has that started yet, and if so, is it disturbing to guests staying next door at Turks and Caicos Club? I'm thinking of going to T&C Club this month and would appreciate any input.

Also, do you know of other places to stay in the Caribbean where the snorkeling is as convenient, and as good as, the snorkeling in front of Coral Gardens? Thanks in advance.

Construction will not bother the Turks & Caicos Club at all because it's several lots away. It will be behind Coral Gardens. There is construction going on all over Grace Bay Beach, but for now it's fine. I confirmed this while chatting with CG's General Mangager one afternoon near the beach.

Also, Turks & Caicos Club and Coral Gardens are the most convenient to the reef. Smith's Reef is in front of private houses. It's the best location if you're staying at a hotel/condo to go to the Bight Reef. The unfortunate part for Coral Gardens is that their beach is crowded with guests using their chairs (which they don't allow) to put their stuff down while they snorkel.) They don't get this at TCC.

Thanks for the reply, Anne. Are you saying that you were there recently, and construction had not started yet?

The construction is to the right of Seagate on an acre of land a litle behind and to the right of Coral Gardens as you face the water. Turks and Caicos club is well removed from Coral Gardens. We stayed at CG when they were building Turks and Caicos Club and weren't bothered by noise so you won't be in this case. It is only a few units and only two stories high. Not a big construction project. They were going to start in Dec depending on how many units they sold but don't know if they have started

Thanks, Howard--you're extremely helpful, as usual.

I saw on www.wheretostay.com that Turks and Caicos club is ofering two free nights in Jan.. You might check it out.
Also I would recommend staying on the second floor for a better view. Get an end unit is you can. Believe that the room numbers are 7 and 12.

Think I was wrong about the end unit room numbers on the second floor. Believe it is 12 and 17 but they will know.

Thanks again!
