We haven't stayed there (but are thinking about it for next July) -- however we have eaten at Skinny legs in Coral Bay -- casual, fun, great burgers, friendly waiters. The drive isn't so bad, as long as you take it slow and beep at corners that you can't see around. Scenery is beautiful in Coral Bay area! Hope this helps.

We just got back from St. John! We stayed at the Weston for 4 days and a Villa in Peters bay for 5 days. The Weston was avery nice resort. The Villa was a fantasic way to go. If you would like info about the villa/Weston or general info I may be of help.

Hi, <BR> We're just back from two weeks on a cat in the VI. Coral Bay is REALLY laid back - - lotsa old hippies. Very, very casual - didn't see any restaurants - a few eateries. Beach get the biggest swells on the Island. Hope you like lonely.

Coral Bay is at the bottom of a beautiful valley. Most of the villas are on the hillside, providing a nice breeze and great views. It is definitely sleepy, but it does have a few decent restaurants, bars (live music some nights) and a great deli. You will drive 20-30 minutes on curvy roads (great scenery -- for the passenger!) to get to the north shore beaches. If you are really into snorkeling, try to rent a dingy/sm. boat and putter around the little coves around East End (near Coral Bay). 20 -30 Min drive to Cruz Bay too (where the only real grocery stores are). I love Coral Bay, but prefer the villas in Great Cruz Bay since we go to the NS beaches and into Cruz Bay for dinner often. Catered To has always done a great job for us.
