# Converting USD to EC currency

I know that there are websites available to calculate this formula. But, I remember a thread years ago that gave a relatively easy way to do the approximate calculation "in your head". Maybe it was Roams Around who posted it. One of my co-workers is going to St Lucia Saturday and I am trying to help her out . She wants to go to the market and I thought I would try to make it easier for her to know the price equivalents from EC to USD. Thanks!

Yes, it was me. Here's a simple formula; Take EC price and divide by 3 then add 10%. The result will be very close to actual amount. Example: \$EC27.00/3=9.00 ; 9.00+.90= \$9.90US

FYI- the "official" exchange rate is \$1US = \$2.6882EC. Many vendors will use \$2.70EC=\$1US.

Some vendors will take US dollars. RoamsAround the vendors use 2.70EC when I was there several years ago.

Thank you! That makes it so much easier . The vendors did take USD when I was there 10 years ago as well but it is nice to know an easy formula to convert to get a better idea of the price in USD.
