Considering Sandals Dunns River?

I would like to stay at Sandals for the first time. I am considering Sandals Dunns River or Sandals Negril in Jamaica. Additionally, I am considering Sandals St. Lucia. Does anybody have any suggestions. Are the Sandals resorts very luxurious, I usually like to stay at beautiful hotels, but wanted to try an all-inclusive and Sandals has been highly recommended. I appreciate any help you can give.

Hi! My husband and I stayed at Dunn's River in May of 1997 and we loved it. You will not be disappointed. The food, service, room, etc. were all perfect. This is one resort that we will certainly return to!

Enjoy!

Stayed there a few years ago. Had a great time. Good restaurants and met a lot of fun people. Lots of honeymooners. This was the nicest of the Sandals in Jamaica, but we prefer the Royal Jamaican for the ambiance and shall I say "older crowd"!!!

Eric,
We have been going down to the Caribbean for the last 15 years and Sandals stands out as the biggest rip off out there. The best way I can describe it is that Sandal's is a cheap imitation of a class operation. I think Sandal's is in business to take advantage of young newlyweds who don't know any better. The more traveled you are the more you'll notice Sandal's shortcomings.
I really can't comment on the Jamaica properties, but we did stay at the St. Lucia resort this past January. The service was poor, the man made beach was closed much of the time because of hazardous surf conditions, the entertainment/nightlife was extremely disappointing - very amateurish.
There are so many great resorts out there that are definitely worth the bucks, I suggest you look elsewhere. Jamaica in particular is loaded with all inclusives, but I do think St.Lucia is the more romantic of the 2 islands. Good Luck!
