Condo/Villa Rentals- where do I find them?

Hi,
We would like to rent a 2BR condo/villa beachfront in the carribean this winter, but don't know where to look online for these types of listings- any suggestions? Any positive/negative experiences? Thanks!!!

Some villa sites are for St. John, USVI:

www.vacationvistas.com
www.lime-coconut.com
www.caribbeanvillas.com

Lots to choose from. We preferred renting a villa on the North Shore. To us, it was prettier than Coral Bay area and much closer to town and the Northshore beaches. Others like the remoteness of the Coral Bay area. Hope this helps.

It is actually caribbeanvilla.com ( no "s").

Here is a site that gives you a lot of different villa rental companies as well as individual "reviews" of the people that stay at the villas:

http://www.usvi-on-line.com/

Enjoy.

L

Keep in mind that the usvi-on-line reviews are positive reviews in keeping with the site's stated policy which says "We don't want to edit reviews but remember that the goal is trying to help fellow travelers by stressing the positives." In other words, they don't want any real negatives since many of the properties being reviewed advertise on the site. The forum is also edited to keep it a "happy" experience for people who basically want to hear good things only.

I got all my information from the USVI Online site and went to St John for the first time several months ago. All the information I received from the folks on USVI forum was more than accurate and also the reviews on the villa we chose exceeded all our expectations when we drove up to it. We both looked at one another and said "pinch me" is this for real. Absolutely breathtaking.

It was one of the best vacation to an island we ever took. St. John is even more beautiful than we expected.

We are booked again for next year.

We have rented a 2-bedroom beachfront apartment at Barrymore Beach Club in Antigua for the last 6 years. The only place I have seen it listed is on the www.wheretostay.com site. We found out about it from friends who have been staying there for over 10 years, so word of mouth might be your best guide.

Christina,

You may want to do a little research on the different islands (BEFORE) you book anything. So many different island offer so many different types of vacations. Some are remote, some americanized, etc. You need to make a short list of things taht are most important to you on vacation, then simply type in the islands names into any search engine, and read about them before you consider boooking a condo or villa.

Dear Christina,

Check out caribbeanway.com - we've used them twice now (Barbados + St. Martin trips) and the service from these guys was really impressive. They even made reservations for us at an always "fully reserved" restaurent! Too bad they only do Caribbean, we're off to the Med. next! suggestions?

Chritina,
Look a Morganhill.com It is in Anguilla and is on a white sand beach with a 180 degree view of the beach and is private. It is absolutely beautiful,a nd the owner can help set up any type of arrangments!

Beachdays.com is the one I have used for the past few years. Enjoy the web-site, villas on the French side in particular. Serena is my favorite on Baie Rouge, but there are many other new ones as well as new islands added to the site.

I would recommend you check out the villas on wheretostay.com (http://www.wheretostay.com/homes/). They seem to have the ones everyone else does plus some that private owners do not offer to the masses. Nice collection.

Bob
